  • The Longevity Institute of Virginia operates as an "out-of-network provider" with all health insurance companies. This means we do not bill your insurance provider directly. By doing so, we are able to deliver the care each client needs, wants, and deserves without being constrained by the rules and policies of insurance companies.

    We require payments upfront but are happy to provide you with a detailed invoice of services ("superbill") that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. It is highly recommended to contact your insurance provider to inquire about your "out-of-network" benefits. By submitting your superbill, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company for a portion of the upfront cost. Please note that insurance payments typically take 3-4 weeks to process and are not guaranteed.

    At Longevity, there are no surprises when it comes to billing. All costs will be discussed in advance, ensuring you know exactly what you are paying for and eliminating unexpected bills.

  • No, you do not need to see a physician or obtain a prescription/referral before starting physical therapy. Virginia is a Direct Access state, allowing you to begin physical therapy directly. Twila, a Doctor of Physical Therapy, will conduct a thorough examination during your first visit to determine if physical therapy is appropriate for you or if a visit to your physician or another medical provider is advisable before continuing.

    If you have a prescription or referral for physical therapy, please bring it to your first appointment. We will gladly communicate and collaborate with your physician or other healthcare providers throughout your plan of care to ensure you receive the best treatment from your multidisciplinary medical team.

  • To prepare for your first appointment, please wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Bring your driver's license or identification card, completed intake forms (if not already submitted online through your PtEverywhere account), and any relevant imaging reports or physician referrals. This applies to both in-person and virtual telehealth appointments.

    If your initial appointment is virtual, you will receive an email in advance with logistical recommendations to ensure the session runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • We uphold a strict 24-hour cancellation policy to ensure timely access to care for all clients. As we only schedule one client at a time, your cooperation with this policy is greatly appreciated. Cancellations made less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment will incur a $50 fee.
